1. Introduction of „the muscle-technique“ for upper blepharoplasty for long lasting reconstruction of the superior palpaebral crease
In diesem Forschungsprojekt geht es um die so genannte Muskeltechnik bei der Schlupflidkorrektur. Nur durch eine Entfernung des Augenringmuskels im Bereich des Sulcus wird eine langfristige Abrundung der Lidplatte möglich und gewährleistet, dass keine Rezidive auftreten. Lidstraffungen, bei denen nur die Lidhaut ohne Muskulatur entfernt wird, sind nach ca. 2 Jahren schon meistens nicht mehr sichtbar und die Schlupfliddeformierung wieder vorhanden.

2. Developement of a scar reduced incision technique for the „direct brow lift“ and for all facial incisions (such as facelifts or tumor removal) . First description in the literature
Durch eine neuartige Schnitttechnik, die so genannte Flat Incision Technique (FIT), können unschöne Narben bei bei fast allen Gesichtsoperationen bei Patienten mit normaler Haut Qualität vermieden werden. Beispielsweise ist die Flat Incision Technique bei Brauenkorrekturen, Stirnlifts, Unterlidkorrekturen, Schlupflidkorrekturen, aber besonders auch bei Facelifts anwendbar. Durch die Flat Incision Technique können grosse Tumore und die entstehenden Defekte ohne unschöne Narben gedeckt werden. Die Narben nach beispielsweise einem Facelift sind mit dem blossen Auge kaum sichtbar.

3.Developement and introduction of the «V/Y-Alar-Perforator Flap» for nasal reconstruction
Oftmals entstehen Hauttumore wie Melanome, Basalzellkarzinome (weisser Hautkrebs) und Plattenepithelkarzinome über die Jahre an Stellen, die immer der Sonne ausgesetzt waren. Besonders herausfordernd ist dabei die Nase. Besonders häufig betroffen von Tumoren an der Nase sind die Nasenspitze und der Nasenflügel. Die Ästhetik, Funktion und Form der Nase, besonders aber der Nasenspitze und der Nasenflügel sollte, wenn immer möglich, erhalten bleiben, trotz Entfernung eines Hauttumors. Durch die die V/Y Perforator Lappen Technik. kann die Symmetrie und Form der Nase, besonders aber der Nasenspitze und der Nasenflügel auch bei ausgedehnten Tumoren erhalten bleiben.

4.Developement/Introduction of the „subcostal artery perforator flap“. First description and examination of the blood supply by an injection study
Hier geht es um die Deckung grosser Weichteildefekte im Bereich der unteren Wirbelsäule, die durch den so genannten Perforator Lappen der Subcostalarterie wieder gedeckt werden können. Defekte, entstanden durch Tumore, oder Missbildungen, oder Unfälle im Bereich der unteren Wirbelsäule sind mit Hilfe dieses Perforator Lappens gut zu verschliessen, ohne dass es zu Entstellung kommt. Ein grosser Vorteil dieser Technik besteht darin, dass die Region von der der Lappen kommt, ohne Endstellung wieder verschlossen wird, da im Bereich der «Pirelli» meist genug überflüssiges Gewebe zur Verschiebung vorhanden ist.

5. Developement and introduction of a scar reduced technique for vertical scar mammaplasty – Purse-string-suture-technique
Durch die „purse-string-suture-technique“ (Tabaksbeutelnahttechnik) können Narben bei Bruststraffungen und mässig grossen Brustreduktionen massiv reduziert werden und die T-Narbe vermieden werden. Die „purse-string-suture-technique“ermöglicht nahezu narbenarme Bruststraffungen und Brustreduktionen. Denn es gibt keine T-Narbe und die Narbe ist in der Brustfalte versteckt. Die Technik ist anwendbar bei Bruststraffungen und mässig grossen Brustreduktionen, bei welchen die Mamille nicht mehr als 5 Zentimeter transferiert werden muss. Auch ist der vertikale Anteil der Narbe viel feiner, da glatt genäht wird und nicht gerafft genäht wird. Auch unschöne „dog-ears“ können mit der Technik vermieden werden.

7. Introduction of a new, simplified method for bat ear correction
Neue Entwicklung einer vereinfachten Operationsmethode zur Korrektur von Abstehohren, egal in welchem Alter.
